Captive
Hoops Labrets and Nose Screws
Captive hoops are very versatile. Captive hoop body jewelry can be worn as earrings,
belly rings, nipple rings. Captive Hoop Body Jewelry, also known as
Captive Bead Rings, is jewelry attached
to the body by means of a hoop. In most cases, the hoop is simply a
wire with a screw on one end and a ball on the other. The ball can
be pulled away from the screw to make a gap in the ring. That gap is
what allows the ring to be slipped onto a hole pierced in the skin.
Once through the skin, the ball is screwed back onto the other end
of the hoop to hold it closed. Captive hoops are fashionable as earrings,
belly rings, nipple rings, or other body piercings such as on the
eyebrows. The ball that allows the gap in the ring to open and close
can be metal or acrylic plastic. The plastic balls often come in
colors, patterns, or stripes and may feature crystals.
Oral Body Piercing is placed just below
the lower lip vertically or horizontally. Labrets are flat on
one side to fit more comfortably on the inside of the lip between
the lip and the gums.
Nose piercing is placed at the outer edge of the nostril. The
jewelry worn through this piercing is usually coiled on one side to
hold it inside the nose with a stud displayed on the outside of the
nose. It is a unique type of body jewelry known as a nose stud or screw.
Captive Rings may also be used in
nose piercings.
